2007 SWCD Native Plant Sale |
![]() |
| For many years the district has been providing landowners with the opportunity to purchase tree seedlings at an affordable price. This was started because tree planting is an important conservation practice that provides countless benefits, and for most landowners was cost prohibitive. Restoration of native plant communities is equally important as restoring forest communities and planting windbreaks. Unfortunately this element of good land stewardship is not practiced to the extent that it should due to limited availability of plants, cost, and lack of convenience. |
This year the district is partnering with Dragonfly Gardens for the second time to offer a wide selection of native plant collections. People that purchased plants last year were pleased with the plant stock from Dragonfly Gardens. With eight different collections to choose from there is something for everyone; whether you want to add wildflowers to an existing prairie, create a miniature prairie, plant a natural buffer along your lakeshore, restore your woodland understory, or diversify your wetland vegetation. Click on the specifics link to learn more about each collection offered. |
