AIS Grant Program
In 2016 Sherburne SWCD staff developed a grant program to make funding available for local stakeholders to oversee AIS prevention efforts.
This grant program has undergone revisions in both 2020 and 2024 with assistance from a local AIS Task Force to reflect the changing needs of the county. The program’s purpose is to financially assist Sherburne County based groups with AIS related projects. These projects are diverse in both their scope and strategies but all share the common goals of preventing new AIS introductions, stopping and slowing their spread, reducing the impacts of currently infested waterbodies. Starting in 2025, the grant program will include revised priority designations. The priorities are listed below:
Sherburne SWCD reserves the right to update or adjust this program as needed given funding availability, local program participation, stakeholder input, and new developments in AIS management knowledge. |
